It's official, the date of the first tournament of the year has been
posted!

Saturday, October 29, 2011 (weekend before Halloween)
UC Santa Cruz
Cost will be approximately $20 + whatever additional travel expenses
that may be needed.

And since the first meeting of the year is this Friday, that gives us
about a month or so to train. I'll be looking into fund matching for
this trip, which will determine whether or not it will be an overnight
trip and thus whether or not we will be able to make the League
Meeting the Friday before the tournament.

On another note, University of Nevada Reno is looking into joining our
league. Since we're closest, Brian is in contact with their adviser-
type person and the thought is to have some type of scrimmage match
with them sometime.

Just a quick clarification, the UCSC tournament is NOT confirmed. They
are asking about having it on Sunday, October 23rd. Stay tuned for
details as this story unfolds.

Aiite Guys, here's the link to the site and the info:

http://askfred.net/Events/moreInfo.php?tournament_id=13634

Prices
Registered: $15
Non-registered: $20
Additional Events: $10

Event Starting Times:
Novice Foil: 9:00 AM
Saber: at 10:00 AM
Foil: at 11:30 AM
Epee: at 1:30 PM

At this point if no Novice fencers want to go we'll be leaving around
7:30am to make it to the 11:30 advanced foil matches. I'm currently
the only driver, so I have room for 4 others. Aside from myself
Stephen Crane is the only other fencer attending. Please decide by
Friday whether or not you will be going as that will help me plan for
this trip.

Mixed Foil 9:30 AM
Mixed Saber 1:30 PM

UCSC's good. The results are already out. So, to kill 2 birds with one
stone:

Here's the link to the blog. It has the link to the askFRED.net site
as well.

There will be a fencing club meeting this Friday at 1-4pm in SG 214 as
per usual. Be there, or be impaled. >:D And you guys now have a least
a month until the next tournament. Now would be a very good time to
start training seriously so we can sweep novice division. The final
bout really wasn't all that spectacular.
