Boys & Girls -
The JFK Annual Awards were a consequence of a boring work life in Cargill in 2008. What began as a one-off, end of the year exercise, ended up getting rave reviews. The effort was repeated in 2009, only to find that people were actually looking forward to it in 2010. So, over the years the JFK Annual Awards have become MDI’s most coveted, most awaited, most speculated and most discussed awards. It has featured in it, some of the mightiest and the scariest. Obama was here, as was Laden. From the exploits of ND Tiwari in the Hyderabadi Raj Bhavan to A Raja making waves, albeit in 2G – the JFK Annual Awards have recognized all.
Mandevians have featured in it too. From the raunchy members of the MML Gang to the incoherent Professors of QMM ( the one that has Chi-Square test, Markov Models etc ) - all have graced the JFK Annual Awards.
But, above all- JFK Annual Awards have been what the creators of JFK always wanted JFK to be – Just For Kicks. So, the intention in these awards is not to hurt anyone nor to please anyone – but to take a self mocking look at ourselves as the year draws to an end.

JFK ANNUAL AWARDS – 2013
1. Stand Up Comedy Act of the Year Award – Rahul Baba's 'Beehive' address at CII Annual Meet - and most other addresses that followed.
2. Mother of All Threats Award – Gen Bikram Singh, “ We will respond at a time and place of our choosing”, which left the Pakis baffled not knowing what will hit them, where and when.
3. Bluff of the Year Award - Gen Bikram Singh, for not striking at any place any time.
4. Biggest Inspiration of the Year Award – MDI Kolkatta & Bangalore Alumni getting Inspired by Mr Aivalli’s Annual JFK Party in Gurgaon to organize Alumni Meets in Kolkatta and Bangalore on the same dates
5. Abhi To Main Jawaan Hoon Award – L K Advani, for actually believing that the party and nation wanted him as the PM at a ripe old age of 87 !
6. Kotler Prize for Product Innovation – Sreesanth for his awesome use of hand towels.
7. Biggest Misunderstanding of the Year Award – Tarun Tejpal, when he misunderstood the lady in the lift when all she said was, “Zara Do Dabaana”.
8. Most Common Ailment of the Year Award – NaMonia – which hit the Congress, JD-U, all UPA alliances – and even Advani.
9. Basing Life on Facebook Likes Award – Pervez Musharraf who came back to Pakistan basis the 2 million likes on his Facebook account. Sunny Leone has 3 million likes. She's not into elections, only erections....
10. Life Comes A Full Circle Award – Nawaz Sharif and Pervez Musharraf, just that they swapped their places in power and in prison.
11. Mis-spelt Film Title of the Year – Fuckrey
12. MDI’s Angry Young Man Award – Abin Joy, for getting angry at every unsolicited mail, probably including this one – as well as this award. Maybe like Aamir Khan, he will end up boycotting the JFK Annual Awards.

14. Most Common Male Name on JFK Award – Amit ( Boni, Kapoor, Garg, Sharma, Gupta, Vaidya, Mehta, Arora…..)
15. Most Common Female Name on JFK Award – Neha ( Swetambri, Khare, Arora, Oberoi, Dua, Wadhwa, Gupta, Sharma…..)
16. Biggest Irony of MDI Award - There's been no Amit-Neha couple - yet !
17. Love Quadrangle of the Year Award – Kareena Kapoor, who now finds herself competing with Chitrangda Singh and Nargis Fakhri, for the undivided attention of Mr Aivalli
18. Every Pretty Girl’s Mutual Friend on FaceBook Award – Sudhanshu Gupta, who is the ONLY mutual friend with most pretty girls on FaceBook – and certainly every girl from MDI.
19. Question of the Year Award – Delhi High Court, when it asked the Delhi Police, “Are the people here going mad ?’ Delhi Police actually responded to that in the negative.
20. Largest Single Stroke Marriage Certificates Award – Madras High Court’s order that ‘Pre-marital sex is as good as a marriage’
21. Most Secretive Overseas Life Award – Rahul Baba’s. We never know where he goes and what he does and whom he…, well never mind.
22. Discovery of the Year Award – The reason for India’s huge population. Every PM has said on 15th August from the Red Fort, “Azaadi ke is diwas per hum sabhi ko fucker hona chahiye.” And a patriotic nation has always responded.
23. Proposed Re-naming of the Year Award – The Lal Qila to LOL Qila, should Rahul Baba become the PM and start giving speeches from there.
24. Closest Knit Family of the Year Award – Pawan Bansal, former Railway Minister’s family - where every relative was making and sharing money.
25. Every Mandevian’s Most Difficult Decision Award – “Which Mobile Phone should I buy ?”
26. Most Mandevian’s Most Easy Decision Award – “Whom do I have sex with today ?”
27. Braveheart of the Year Award – Esha Sharma, of the Ferrero Choco fame, taking on Ms Shweta HandaGupta, MDI’s longest serving alum CEO on the use of MBTI Training.
28. Fading Habit of the Year Award – To send a Thank You mail to fellow alums, when their requests on JFK on Gurgaon rentals, job leads, professional guidance has been answered.
29. Calculation of the Year Award – The distance between the Sun and the Earth - and all the Indian mythology that flowed with it.
30. Most Promising Scene of the Year Award – MDI Alumni kissing each other at Alumni Parties.
31. Best Figure of the Year Award – The one in who’s company Vijay Mallya is found nowadays.
32. Worst Figure of the Year Award – The balance sheet of Vijay Mallya’s own companies.
33. The Greatest Actor of the Year Award – Sunny Leone for using her upper lips in her performance this year.
34. Most Confused of the Year Award – The Indian Voter, who had no idea that when he wanted Modi to re-write history, Modi would take Alexander all the way till Bihar.
35. Greatest Act of the Year Award – The Congress in New Delhi. They were booted out, but retained relevancy.
36. Identity Finder of the Year – Shiela Dixit who apparently did not know who Arvind Kejriwal was till some two weeks before the election – and who probably will never forget him for the rest of her life.
37. Congress’s New Election Symbol – The Toyota Innova. That’s all it needs to carry its Delhi MLAs.
38. The Greatest Strategic Alliance Ever Award – The day that the US announced that it had reached an understanding with Iran, the Government of India announced a new strategic partnership with Bhutan.
39. The Most Influential Foreign Services Award – Indian Foreign Service for the eight months it took to get a mariner ship captain out of jail from a tiny pot West African Nation – Togo.
40. Naughty At Forty Award - MDI as it turned 40 this year. Why naughty ? You know the stuff that we do there. Right ?

JFK ANNUAL PERSON OF THE YEAR AWARD - 2013
A moment comes which comes but rarely in history, when an individual ignites passion in his fellow countrymen, when he unites a billion plus seeped in diversity to a single goal. When people – men, women, children, old & young, rich & poor, strong & weak – all come under the umbrella of a single overarching influence. When his utterances bring smiles on otherwise hassled Indians. When his analogies make us forget our daily misery, our desire for upliftment – when all is forgotten in the belly grumping, back bending and ‘hansi-ke-aasoon’ laughter. When, unknowingly and unacknowledged by his very own – he unites the nation like never before. And, when given the chance – as was given a few months back – a nation responds. A man propelled up by the immense escape velocity of Jupiter beneath his wings.
It gives us great pleasure in bestowing him – the Living Statue of Unity – the most coveted JFK Annual Person of the Year Award for 2013 – our very own Rahul baba.
