Apologies, forgot to pass this on. Please incorporate for respective groups.

Much respect to West Bengal disability community for this participatory systematic approach - this is what we should have all done.

Dear Amita Mam & Vaishnavi,

Seasons Greeting from Disability Activists Forum, West Bengal.

Disability Activists Forum West Bengal is an organization comprising NGOs working in the field of disability, Parents Associations, Social Activists, persons with disabilities and individuals. Since its inception in 1996, the organization has been relentless and dedicated in its fight to protect and promote the rights of people with disabilities in consonance with various national and international laws.

Disability Activists Forum organized a consultation with its member organization (15) and individual members (10) on the “Creating Mandatory and Desirable standards of accessibility in all spheres of life for persons with disabilities” after the SC Judgement of Accessibility for persons with disabilities in India and as decided by NALSAR, National Disability Network, Leaders and individuals as the first step towards making the National RPWD Rule.

What we are sending here is a compilation of the recommendations developed by the members of Disability Activists Forum, West Bengal.

We hope that our recommendations will be considered / used by NALSAR & other coordinating leaders during the formation of the National document on RPWD Rules.

A line of confirmation of the receipt of the document will be highly appreciated.

Thanks & Regards,

Kuhu Das

On behalf of the Disability Activists Forum WB
