Hello friends:

The 9th Annual Festival de la Familia is coming up very quickly.  If you haven't done so already, reserve Saturday, August 21st for a day of salsa music and dancing with your friends and family at the Pena Adobe Park in Vacaville. For more details, go to the Festival de la Isla web site at www.festivaldelaisla.com.  In addition, as part of the event, Festival Director Linda August is implementing a food drive to assist those in the community that need a helping hand.  See Linda's special message below regarding the importance of the food drive.

We look forward to seeing you on August 21st,

James Barrera
Festival Promotions Director

Giving Thanks! - A special message from Linda August, Festival Director:

The Festival de la Familia theme for 2010 is Giving Thanks!... and we want to thank you... all of you for your support these past years. Given the hard times everyone has been enduring with the struggling economy. Many of us have been very fortunate, however, many have not been so fortunate. People have lost their jobs, their homes, and some are now homeless. Now is the time to help and reach out to help those who have not been so fortunate. This year we are asking every single person, adult, and children to bring one Can of Food as a donation for those who are in need. The Mission Solano Rescue volunteers will be at the front gate collecting your donations. For more information on Mission Solano please see their website www.missionsolano.org
