Christmas Salsa Dance Party at Dimitri’s Lounge:

Avance Brings the Hottest Music to Fairfield!!

  

Suisun, CA – Sabor De La Isla productions brings its 10^th Annual Christmas Extravaganza Salsa Dance Party to Dimitri’s Lounge by the Bay on Friday, December 3^rd, 2010.   Dimitri’s is located at 700 Main Street, in Suisun.  It is recommended to reserve tickets in advance.  This popular event has in the past sold out early.

 

The dance party is a preview for the 10^th Annual Festival de la Isla which takes place at the Pena Adobe Park in August.  The Sabor De La Isla Christmas Party runs from 8:30 pm through 2:00 am and will feature live salsa music and dancing, as well as favorite dance mixes spun by DJ Bosco.

 

Bay Area favorite, Orquesta Avance, will perform at 9:00 pm.  This party gives the audience just a sample of what to expect at the actual 10^th Annual Festival de la Isla set for August 2011.

Avance is a 13-piece salsa band that came together in the Bay Area.  The group consists of four electrifying bilingual singers, a sizzling horn section and one of the best rhythm sections on the West Coast. You put this all together and you get a new and unique sound that crosses the English-Spanish language barrier.  Leading the group is Carlos Santana percussionist/musical director, Karl Perazzo and vocalist Armando Cordoba.

 

“This is our 10^th Anniversary Sabor de la Isla dance here in Solano County.  This is our way of showing our appreciation for the community support for Festival de la Isla -- by throwing a Christmas party,” said Linda August, director of Festival de la Isla.  This is for the people who support our musicians, our vendors and sponsors. This is our way to bring the ambiance of a Christmas parranda from islands here to California. 

 

Many of us miss the Christmas traditions, the foods, the gathering of friends and family.  It’s an opportunity to show the rich tradition and culture of Puerto Rico.  The Christmas party allows us to gather and reminisce and appreciate our beautiful culture.” 

 

This celebration offers a unique opportunity for the media, potential sponsors, and vendors and for salsa music fans to see what the 2011 Festival de la Isla will bring to Solano County.  It is an opportunity to get involved early on with an event that has grown in size and reputation for the past nine seasons.

  

Tickets bought in advance are $20, bought at the door, $25.  Doors open at 8:30 pm.  Appetizers are available.  The party ends at 2:00 pm.  A formal dress code will be enforced.  Reservations are accepted for a party of four or more.  There will be an additional $10 reservation fee.  For more information on the Christams party, go to www.sabordelaisla.com. Hey Linda:

 

The PSA has been sent out twice now to all contacts: media, art organizations, art/music organizations, dance clubs, libraries, museums and the general arts public.  The listing is well over 600.  

 

There are problems w/the Salsacrazysf website.  I have not been able to access the calendar.  I have been a member of the site for four years and accessed the calendar throughout that time to place our events.  I believe that changes have been made to the site which have either deleted member passwords or flat out prevent registered web site members from accessing the calendar.  I've sent out a message to their site administrator.  I am awaiting their response.
