Good day friends:

What better way to celebrate spring then with a salsa dance party at Dmitri's Lounge by the Bay.  It's a great excuse to polish up those dance moves.  The event is hosted by this summer's upcoming Festival de la Isla.  The featured band is Mazacote.  See the PSA below for more information.

Thanks in advance,

May Salsa Dance Party at Dimitri’s Lounge by the Bay

Suisun, CA - On Friday, May 20th, Dimitri’s Lounge by the Bay will host a salsa dance party and concert, which will bring Puerto Rican music and dance to Solano County.  The club is located at 700 Main Street, Suisun, CA.  It is recommended to reserve tickets in advance.  This is one of a series of popular salsa dance hosted by the popular Festival de la Isla.

The salsa dance party runs from 8:00 pm through 2:00 am.  Bay Area favorite, Orquesta Mazacote, will perform at 9:00 pm.  Concert attendees can reserve a table for friends and family.  The group must consist of a minimum of four.  Your entire party must arrive no later than 8:30 pm or the reservation is forfeited.

Louie Romero Y Su Grupo Mazacote: Mazacote is a hard-swinging, old school salsa group led by legendary percussionist, Louie Romero.  Music fans know Romero as the long-time timbales player for famed, “El Cantante,” Hector Lavoe.  Romero has worked with an array of salsa and jazz stars such as Willie Colon, Ruben Blades, Celia Cruz, William Carter.

Based in San Francisco, Mazacote plays a crowd-pleasing mixture of high-energy salsa favorites and original Latin jazz tunes.  It’s no wonder that Latin Beat magazine called Mazacote “One of the premiere salsa ensembles in Northern California.”

Recently, the band released their newest album, “Timbalero.”  The album is filled with soulful and danceable salsa, cha-cha, Latin jazz, Cuban guajira, and Bomba.  For more information on Mazacote go to mazacote.com.

“This is our kick-off party in preparation of this summer’s Festival de la Isla.  What better way than a spring salsa dance party,” said Linda August, director of Festival de la Isla.  This is for the people coming out every year to support our musicians, our vendors and sponsors at our summer festival.  We’ve had several concerts now with Dimitri’s Lounge.  It is a beautiful facility. The drink prices here are very affordable.  Dimitri’s is kind of a hidden gem here in Suisun.  We’ve received great comments to people who’ve come here.”

Tickets bought at the door are $25.  If purchased in advance, $20.  For more information, go to www.festivaldelaisla.com, or www.sabordelaisla.com.  For ticket locations, you can also call (707) 580-3167, or (707) 426-5591.
