During the seder, we tell the Pesach (Passover) story, which has held meaning across generations, and still resonates today as we witness the oppression of people in Palestine, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sudan, and right here in Colorado. In the Jewish tradition, Pesach is a story of how Jews, along with what the Torah calls “mixed multitudes,” went from a constrained place of bondage and struggled our way towards freedom. We re-tell this story every year to celebrate the freedoms we have and to recommit ourselves to fighting for everyone’s freedom.
This event is for everyone, regardless of faith, identity, background, or familiarity with Passover and Judaism. Whether you have attended Passover seders all your life, or this will be your first time, we invite you to join us! We will explain the parts of the seder as we go. All are welcome! You don't have to be Jewish to attend.
This event will be a shared picnic. Whether you come on your own or in a group, Pesach reminds us to welcome the stranger and we encourage you to bring your own picnic and food to share.
Access: The location will be announced the day before - we will be outdoors near central Denver. The location will be accessible via public transit with street parking available.
