Dear Sabeel supporter,

Greetings from Sabeel.

Incarnated Christ in Rafah, we come to you echoing the lament of the psalmist “Why, O Lord, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?” (Psalm 10:1). Lord, cultivate in us a stubborn hope which carries on regardless of our understanding, capability, and faith. Work through us, O Lord, in these dark times.

Lord in your mercy... hear our prayer

November 2024 Conference

Sabeel invites you to our upcoming conference, “Challenging Religious Extremism”, to be held in-person November 17-21 in Bethlehem and Jerusalem.

The conference will challenge religious extremism and supremacism through a scriptural, liberationist approach to theology by ecumenical and interfaith collaboration. The plenaries, workshops and visits will promote faith based, non-violent, peace-making initiatives to assist in the achievement of liberation, justice and peace in Palestine-Israel.

Additionally, register for a "pre-conference tour" held November 11-16. Full itinerary can be found here and on our website.

Last Wednesday we held our 5th pre-conference webinar "A Discussion on Antisemitism". We were joined by Rabbi Faryn Borella, Hadar Cohen, Sabeel's director Omar Haramy, and Father David Neuhaus for a rich discussion on the history of Antisemitism, the experiences of antisemitism by Jews who are vocal about advocating for Palestine, and strategies for combating antisemitism without our movements.

In case you missed it, the recording of the webinar is now on our YouTube channel, and the transcript of Father David Neuhaus's contribution on "The history of antisemitism" is available on our website. And don't forget to register to attend our conference in-person this November!

Last Thursday marked a successful gathering of one of Sabeel's local women's bible study groups gathered before the end of the month of Mary to study several texts focusing on Mary.
