Overall, very clean results. Most everything seems easily fixed.

RC1 Test Results:

NEED:

sys-fs/f2fs-tools needs added to spinbase
ATOM text rendering issues in spins? using version 1.23, but version 1.32 is released. Please bump to see if issues are resolved.

KDE -
Getting error from power management. need to investigate.

Power Management configuration module could not be loaded - There was a problem contacting dbus!! assuming the action is ok.

Gnome -
Gparted is old, using v29, bump to v32 for support of LVM&LUKS. Add "F2FS" USE flag.

MATE -
Themes missing? Current theme (Custom) has a question mark on it, BlueMenta and Menta has a question mark on it. Seems to have defaulted to BlackMATE title bar in live image, but gives BlueMenta Titlebar after install?

icons for buttons in top right corner of lightdm don't exist which results in white squares with triangles on them with exclamation marks.

icon is missing for lightdm DE selection?

XFCE -
No issues

LXQT -
icons for buttons in top right corner of lightdm don't exist which results in white squares with triangles on them with exclamation marks.

    My 2 cents.

    gparted -> fixed

    Atom:

    The following keyword changes are necessary to proceed:
     (see "package.accept_keywords" in the portage(5) man page for more details)
    # required by dev-util/electron-2.0.17::gentoo
    # required by app-editors/atom-1.32.1::gentoo
    # required by app-editors/atom (argument)
    =media-libs/libvpx-1.8.0-r1 ~amd64

    Would require us to move to unstable media-libs/libvpx. Not going to do that right now. Instead we could decide to just drop atom from images?
    The MATE theme thing is not a showstopper.
    The icon issue was discussed on IRC. For this, and other issues, you best use the Open Project tool so we can more easily track issues. (open a ticket for it there)

    Thanks for testing!

    Yeah, I've been updating the milestone task instead of creating new bugs. Geaaru mentioned I should create new bugs and I agree so I'll change my method.

    I agree with removing atom for now.
