Job Opening: Wipro Technologies, the global IT business of Wipro Limited (NYSE:WIT) is hiring!!

Position: Senior IP Corporate Counsel

Qualifications: JD plus Engineering degree preferably from a premier university in the U.S. and licensed to practice law in the U.S.

Experience: 10 plus years post-qualification experience of implementing controls and creating IP policies for an IT product or services organization.

Strong preference for candidates who have had in-house experience with multinational organizations in the IT and ITES sector

Revised version from Inderpreet with application instructions, etc.

REQUIRED skill set:

(i) Experience & understanding of software IP asset development lifecycle & licensing.

(ii) Proven track record of technology transactions, including various licensing models, such as ‘X-as-service’, enterprise, consumer, OEM licensing etc.

(iii) Provide thought leadership from IP perspective to business teams for evolving software product & service delivery models.

(iv) Drafting, reviewing and negotiating IP aspects of IT services agreements, license arrangements, joint IP agreements, NDAs etc.

(v) Design & implement controls for Open Source compliance in context of IT services & SAM practices.

DESIRABLE skill set:

(i) Driving (a) policies, (b) controls & (c) contractual provisions for establishing copyright ownership of software etc for pre-exiting and incidental IP in work for hire scenario.

(ii) Experience of creating M&A IP due diligence practices and driving it with internal stake holders.

(iii) Creating copyright guidelines & implementing ground level controls in context of content creation & exchange for:

i. Knowledge management in an organization (ii) Content creation for training purposes (iii) IT Consulting services (iv) Sales & Marketing

(iv) Exposure to IP litigation and discovery process.

(v) Sound knowledge & research experience of US & European copyright laws, copyright doctrines, Berne convention, DMCA, data protection laws, creative commons, Madrid Protocol etc.

(vi) Know-how of Patent and trademark law & industry practices is desirable but not mandatory.

Location: Preferred location: Silicon Valley, CA or New Jersey
