Is it ok or not recommended to run Premium Malwarebytes and Paid SuperAntiSpyware at the same time? I suspect like Antivirus programs you should only have one running at the same time to avoid problems. Thanks.

Malwarebytes is deliberately designed to run alongside AV software and other security products so you should be able to run the two of them together in real-time without any issues, but please let us know if you do encounter any problems and we will assist in getting the two of them to work properly together.

To date I have not seen any reports of users having issues running the two, and while SUPERAnti-Spyware isn't as popular as it used to be, at one time it was quite common for paid users of both products to run them together, often alongside a mainstream antivirus product, something both Malwarebytes and SUPERAnti-Spyware were designed to work in tandem with.

Thanks for the feedback. I will let my user know and report any issue should some arise. Personally, I use the premium Malwarebytes and it works great. I use the free version of SuperAntiSpyware as an extra cleanup tool when/if needed.

@KenW I don't know? I go way back when they were selling Lifetime/one time purchase keys. I just logged on and ran SAS Pro. Quick Scan & got 1 hit ... up at the menu bar it says Lifetime Pro Subscribtion... cheers

(with phone no.) I got in the forum 8/26/2018 because I had to remove the lifetime program. but, I take snapshots of the key or copy & paste it in notepad - also put it on a memory stick. If all else fails, even a password reset? You can PM me your basic info, I'll send it to an admin over there.... (Wonder if Nick still runs the place?) good luck, 73's

Indeed, considering that their parent company settled a lawsuit in 2013 in which they used "scareware", I don't think either company is trustworthy. The parent company was found to have engaged in fraudulent and misleading conduct.

I ditched SAS a few months after the founder sold it to Support.com, and in my personal opinion it started going downhill soon after that. I thought it was overkill to be using this with MBAM so uninstalled it.

According to the FTC, Support.com is still up to their old tricks to wit: "In December 2016, a complaint was filed against Support.com and Office Depot alleging their free PC Health Check Program purposely misidentified malware symptoms, and that consumers were then encouraged to purchase repair services. In March 2019, Office Depot agreed to pay $25 million and Support.com agreed to pay $10 million to settle the complaint. Office Depot and Support.com suspended use of the PC Health Check Program in 2016."

The tip on the www is to go into msconfig and set it to boot into safe mode but there are lots of posts by people who have tried that route and were unable to re-set via msconfig and now can't boot to anything other than safe mode!

PudgyOne - The majority of the scary stories from people responding to the msconfig solution centre around not being able to undo the changes (despite msconfig saying it has) and every re-boot going into safe mode.

The problem with forcing Safemode by using msconfig to change the boot.in is that if you only allow Safemode, and you still cannot get into Safemode, you are not going to get into normal Windows either. You could end up in a boot loop. You would have to use Recovery Console to redo the boot.in file to fix that problem. It's up to you. Try Rick's suggestion to use System Restore.

I don't believe Dell Community permits diagnostic logs to be posted in the forums anymore. As an alternative, I can send you to a forum where they can run a couple of tools to repair the Safemode boot keys. One of them looks for and restores backups, so it can restore non-default entries as well. We used to do that on Dell's Malware Removal forum, but that has closed. If you decide to take that route, my suggestion is to post in the Malware Removal Forum at SpywareHammer and have the staff trained in malware removal walk you through the fix. Help is free, but you will need to register there.

I'm having this annoying problem where Windows randomly seems to decide that I have the Windows key pressed down (even though I don't), and every key press will trigger an associated Windows key shortcut until I press the Windows key, which seems to reset it. I don't get any kind of pop up or notification when this happens. It might happen once or twice a day.

I'm using Windows 7 now, but I had the same problem with Windows Vista on the same computer (although less frequently). Since first posting this question, I've gotten a new computer (also Windows 7), and I'm still experiencing this issue. I've also encountered it with two separate keyboards. At work, on Windows XP, I've never had this issue.

I've turned off every setting on the Windows Ease of Access Center for keyboards, including sticky keys, toggle keys, filter keys, and mouse keys. However, I wouldn't be surprised if one of these was getting triggered anyway.

I'm pretty sure your keyboard is malfunctioning... if this is a desktop, try another keyboard. If its a laptop, try cleaning the keyboard, but the laptops keyboards are kind of fragile. I mean, if the keyboard hardware went bad, you have to replace it.

I'm having a similar problem... only I'm running Windows on a virtual drive inside a Linux laptop. I know it's not a hardware issue, because I have no problem when I pop out of the virtual drive into my real OS, but the Windows emulation is CONVINCED that I'm pressing down the alt key. Which is a tad inconvenient.

I don't have a long-term solution, because I don't know enough about Windows to work out what software could be causing the issue. In the meantime, when I notice it happening I'm just doing as suggested and tapping whatever key is "pressed down."

If i hit the letter "A" repeatedly it will cycle through every letter, number, and symbol on the keyboard. It does not matter which key I hit this happens. (I am using a diffrent computer to type this)

I have uninstalled and reinstalledI have changed keyboards before i knew this was a FireFox only issueWindows 7 64bitZone Alarm (Most recent updated last night 04-08-14)Merc Stealth Keyboard (Most recent Update Today 04-09-14)I am at a loss and this only happens in FireFox.Please HELP!!

Does your keyboard driver (Z Engine) have any options for specially handling individual applications? I wonder whether you need to put Firefox in a remedial category for software that only really understands basic keyboard codes...

I have the exact same problem.I updated two IBM thinkpads to the new version of ZoneAlarm.-- One is a Windows 7 64-bit and I have the problem there.-- I don't have the problem on the 32-bit windows 7 machine. There are more significant details:-- The "cycling-through-all-the-characters" when pressing the same key occurs only in Firefox and Chrome text entry fields.-- It does not happen in Internet explorer or in the Firefox version used in the Tor Browser package. -- However, in IE, it happens in the search field of Ctrl+F but not in Tor.-- It does not either occur in any other application (any of the MS Office, Sitcky notes, etc.)
