Will the SAAO be offering a Mock Practical for OMS1 students in SAAO?

 

If so, we should probably discuss the content and it would have to be next week I would assume…

Oh jeeze, yes! I had it written down but cant believe how fast time has gone. I was thinking perhaps Thursday the 14th at 3pm? 

What are they going over, & how many minutes at each station should we give them?

Hi Veronica,

 

Attached is a draft I’ll be sending them soon about the practical. The information shouldn’t change much between now and next week.

 

The 14^th at 3pm would probably work well since their exam is on Monday the 18^th (though that time conflicts with my integrative medicine elective :-().

Hi Dr. Nuno,

Unfortunately that Thursday is the only day that works for both our class and their's. I'm in the advanced anatomy elective this semester and it's also on the same day...although they're going to let me make it up (on that note, I'll be dropping into integrative when I can this semester as well!). Hopefully too many other electives don't coincide with this timing as well.

Thanks for the draft! I'll start getting it organized and blast it out to the class asap. Is there anything else I should do? I attended the mock practical last year and remember pretty well how it was organized, should be pretty straight forward :) and fun! Haha

Yeah, no I think that is it.

 

I would just continue the tradition that only SAAO members can participate, but be ready to sign people up on the spot.

Hi Dr. Nuno-

One question, are their handouts from these labs pretty much the same that we had? I want to ask our volunteers to look them over before hand to make sure we are all on the same page.
