Hello SAAO members,
Every month between September and February, we have the recurring opportunity to submit pieces for publication in the Student American Academy of Osteopathy’s (SAAO) triennial news magazine, The Live Still Point, which is written by SAAO members for SAAO members.
This publication a creative expression of the osteopathic student experience, is sent to all student members, and it serves as a way to spread knowledge, information and lessons learned about osteopathic manipulative medicine throughout the years of medical school. These expressions can range from articles, essays, videos, photography to poetry and other original content.
Submissions may also be published to the SAAO website and social media to allow students to get a glimpse of the talents of others in the osteopathic family.
Some ideas for submissions:
- Recent articles / publications / posters / research you've been involved in
- Experiences you had over the summer (here or abroad!) in a health care setting and how OMM and Osteopathy were involved
- Reflection on an OMM community service experience
- Update about an initiative you are involved in on campus and how that relates to the Osteopathy and the future of our profession
- Highlights from recent conferences you've attended
- 3rd and 4th years: reflections on OMT and osteopathy on rotations!
Guidelines for submission:
- Send me your submission for September by 9/21 (I'll be in touch monthly with a reminder for the following month)
- Submission must include the author’s name as you would like it to appear

Please let me know if you have any questions!
Best,
Danielle
