UX conference

Hi all
I have recently returned from Copenhagen where I presented and
attended the UX Masterclass conference. Over 30 UX experts presented
from over 20 countries most of the presentations were very good and
enlightening, sharing information that will not be found on the
internet, due to disclosure agreements etc.

We have been asked whether we want to host the conference in May 2012
here in South Africa. Initially I was very excited and jumped to the
opportunity to have all these experts fly over here and share their
experiences with us, however its a ton of work and I have become
cautious. I would like the gauge whether there is interest here to
attend such a conference?

I have till the end of the month else its going to Brazil, please let
me know if this is of interest to you?

Yes please I will most definately attend the conference. I think there is most definately a need in SA for UX events.

Hi Guys,

As you can see my name is Riniel, I studied multimedia design at the University of Johannesburg. I finished my degree last year where we touched UX design a bit ( wire frames, persona's...) and really hit an interested in UX. As the course was more design orientated the UX we learnt was really basic and was wondering if there are any further courses specialising in UX and Usability design?

I do think its a really important aspect of the users experience and understanding of not only web sites but also mobile and application design and would like to move more towards the communication of design rather than design itself.

If you guys have more information on this please send it my way, even if its just tweets/blogs to follow, great UX books or tutorials.
