EURASIAN BITTERN

Dear SARBN subscribers

Some of you may have heard of the EURASIAN BITTERN which was seen yesterday (and again today) in the Dinokeng area north of Pretoria, and broadcast locally on the Wider Gauteng group.

The bird was seen on Mongena Private Game Reserve, and I’ve now heard that the reserve is offering a special for birders. I’ve decided to broadcast it here for anyone who wants to attempt to see this mega for South Africa, now very rare throughout the country. See details in attached in the photo.
