SOOTY GULL – still present currently at Kei Mouth. Unfortunately, the ferry is not operating today due to a large rise in water levels in the river, so only distant views can be had of it from the southern bank as it moves around on the northern bank – reported by Simon Vegter.

SOOTY GULL – just to keep everyone up to speed on what is happening with this bird… It was last seen yesterday morning at about 06h45 when it took off out of the Tern roost at the mouth of the river at Kei Mouth and flew off in a southerly direction. Despite birders searching for it for the rest of yesterday, it was not seen again and birders on site this morning have also confirmed that the bird is not currently present there. More news as and when I receive it.
Kind regards
