Good evening from a seemingly quiet weekend up north again.

GAUTENG

The SICKLE-WINGED CHAT was still present about 100m south of the last locality on Saturday within the greater Devon grassland IBA. PV had a Hamerkop. Nice.

MPUMALANGA

At least five CHESTNUT-BANDED PLOVERS were reported from Leeupan at -26.564 29.002.

EASTERN CAPE

LIMPOPO

A very unusual record of a COMMON TERN came through from Olifants River Safari on Thursday afternoon, but no news of it since then. Further south, a pair of AFRICAN PYGMY GEESE were recorded at Rust De Winter Dam yesterday.

WESTERN CAPE

The Keurbooms River yielded an ELEGANT TERN late last week, but no further reports have been received regarding this individual.  A pelagic trip out of Hout Bay over the weekend produced two SOUTHERN FULMAR and a SPECTACLED PETREL. Elsewhere in the provinces, a single YELLOW-BILLED STORK was seen flying through Kanonkop in Knysna and has been feeding in the dams at Narian Village. An adult BATELEUR was photographed in the Botlierskop Reserve outside of Mossel Bay. A BLACK HERON was visible from the Park Island Bird Hide in Zandvlei today, a GOLIATH HERON was reported from the Breede River just upriver from Witsand and the CAPE STARLING was still present at the Cape of Good Hope on the 18th of Mayat -33.955 22.337. Up in the Garden Route, a single ABDIM'S STORK was found close to Uitsig, Groenewide Farm near the Strawberry Farm in George.

That's all for now!
