SARBN: the importance of respect...

Greetings all SARBN subscribers,

 

I’ve received a number of comments about some of the “behaviour” at the African Crake twitch at Strandfontein Sewage Works during the course of today. I was not there, so have no personal experience of what may or may not have happened. I also know that nobody is perfect, so I’m certainly not looking to be pointing fingers at anyone here and giving the impression of being “holier than thou”…

 

All I want to do with this post is to remind everyone that we have grown into a fairly large and active birding community and, with so many people and personalities involved, there are bound to be some differences of opinion along the way. So, let’s all just try and get along and show respect at twitches…  respect for our fellow birders who are also there to enjoy the particular bird, respect for the property that we are on and also respect for the bird itself. No need to say any more than that…!

 

Now let’s get back to enjoying the birds and birding… and finding that next mega to report on…J
