There seems to be some issue with SARBN today, so if you end up receiving this message multiple times, I'm sorry about that...
Hi all SARBN subscribers,
I will be heading out of the country on Saturday and going to spend a few weeks looking for the incredible birds and wildlife of south-east Australia. Obviously, that means that I won’t be here to run SARBN during that time and, once again, Garret Skead has kindly agreed to step in and keep the news flowing. I will share all of his relevant details with you later this week, so that you have them on record, but please note that Garret will not be able to add any new members to SARBN while I am away. So, if you have any friends that might still be keen on joining and keeping up with news of the Festive Season rarities, please ask them to log on to this link and ask to join the group - https://groups.google.com/g/sa-rarebirdnews They need to do this by lunchtime on Friday, 12 December 2026, so that I still have time to approve their requests to join.
If they cannot get this right for whatever reason, ask them to email me directly at hard...@mweb.co.za and I will try and add or invite them manually to join the group. Again, this must be done by lunchtime on Friday, or else I won’t have time to action it.
Please feel free to forward this on to whichever of your birding friends may still be interested in joining.
On a separate, but related, note, I have also, once again, created a WhatsApp group where we will be sharing some updates and back of camera photos from our trip as and when we have connectivity. Some of you have followed along on previous trips, so know what it is all about, and have asked that I share any future WhatsApp group invites for our trips as well. So, if you have absolutely nothing better to do and want to follow along on our Aussie adventure, here’s a link to join the WhatsApp group that we’ve set up - https://chat.whatsapp.com/LcM8imXvmPjK8mxYqDtegF
That’s it for now. I will still be running SARBN until the end of Friday, and hopefully there will still be one or two more big surprizes to come out of the woodwork before then…J
Kind regards
Trevor
