MACARONI PENGUIN – a single bird has just been found and photographed at Kleinmond main beach (Western Cape) at -34.341, 19.040. Please let’s try and keep any reporting of this bird off of social media for now to try and avoid the general public getting wind of it and then the authorities stepping in because too many people are showing an interest in the bird – reported by Carin Malan.

BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER – a single bird has just been found and photographed at Walvis Bay Salt Pans. Unfortunately, it seems that it is in an area that is not easily accessible to the general public, so might not be easy to get to for potential twitchers – reported by Kevin van Schalkwyk.
