Just sharing this message from my work email address as well (apologies to those of you that might have received it twice now!) to try and get it through to as many of you as possible, since it seems not to have reached many people this morning… No need to reply to this message.
And, also just to note that I am aware of the error in last night’s report where Polentswa waterhole was noted as being in the Northern Cape whereas, in reality, it is on the other side of the river and actually in Botswana! Sorry about that…😊

Morning everyone,
Firstly, just a quick word of thanks to all of those of you that responded with advice and offers of assistance to resolve the issues that we are currently experiencing with Google Groups and SARBN. While the problems currently persist, rest assured that, in the background, a new system is being worked on and, hopefully, before too long, SARBN will be back to its normal self again providing you will all the news and updates as and when they come through. Please just bear with us for a short while as we try and build this new system and get it up and running and ensure that all the teething problems are mostly sorted out up front. I will provide more info on it, and the people helping out behind the scenes, once it is up and running.
I’m sorry for all these issues, but it was out of my control unfortunately. It’s also very frustrating to me as I put a lot of time and effort into preparing these reports, and then they just don’t get through to all of you…L
Lastly, for the many of you that have not received the recent reports, please note that you can still read them online and see all the photos at this link - https://groups.google.com/g/sa-rarebirdnews Just click on the particular message that you want to read on the website and then it will open up for you and you can sit back, read it and enjoy the myriad of photos of some mouth-watering birds… the last few reports have been particularly “photo-heavy” with all the recent rarities…J
I look forward to getting “back to normal” before too long! Thanks to all of you for your patience with this.
Kind regards
Trevor
