Greetings all SARBN subscribers,

Before I head off on my trip, I just wanted to remind you all or let you all know about a few things quickly, none of which have anything to do with rarities…J

Firstly, please don’t forget to pop over to http://www.birdlife.org.za/jackpot-birding/ and purchase your tickets for the raffle that BLSA is currently running. For a ticket price of only R500.00, and a total number of tickets being sold of only 1000, you stand a reasonable chance to win some really great cash prizes including a 1st prize of R100 000.00, a 2nd prize of R 25 000.00 and a 3rd prize of R 10 000.00. And, more importantly, all money raised through this raffle goes towards the very important conservation work that BLSA does to conserve the birds that we all love to so much and their habitats. Please seriously consider buying a ticket or multiple tickets and help BLSA to “give conservation wings”.

Secondly, the African Bird Fair is coming up next weekend. It promises to be a great event and I’m a little sad that I cannot be here to attend it. There are some fantastic workshops and talks on offer and lots of great birding-related items being showcased, so it’s definitely an event that you don’t want to miss. Head over to https://www.birdlife.org.za/african-bird-fair-2022/ to find out more about what all is on offer and to register to attend the event.

And, lastly, just a little trip that some of you may be interested in joining later this year in Chobe. The Chobe Birding and Photo Festival is the first of its kind and will hopefully become a more regular event, but there are some special offers in place for the first one. Pop over to https://pangolinphoto.ac-page.com/chobe-birding-and-photo-festival to find out a little more about it and to register if you are interested in attending it.

That’s all for now… back to rarities we go!

Kind regards

Trevor
