"SA Senior Class Council (Bar) Crawls into Spotlight"
Binghamton, NY, 5/21/07 – This past Thursday along Main Street, Court Street and State Street in downtown Binghamton was the annual Senior Class Bar Crawl, where hundreds of Binghamton University students celebrate their academic accomplishments and four years of hard work with a day, and night, on the town. Amid calls from the State University of New York Chancellor John Ryan and concerns of Binghamton City Council members over the dangers of binge drinking and the behavior of Binghamton students during the event in past years, things went off "without a hitch."
The Student Association's Senior Class Council was able to ensure this through partnering with the University on mass marketing campaigns educating students on open container laws and of the increased enforcement they would be encountering from Binghamton police. The Press & Sun Bulletin said of these concerns that "Fears of shiftless hooligans raining chaos on downtown Binghamton never materialized." Senior Class Council President Graig Klein called the Bar Crawl event a "success" and expressed his hopes to see an even bigger Bar Crawl next year with more community and University support.

The Student Association at Binghamton University is a student-run government operating within the State University of New York for over fifty years. Considered one of the most effective student governments in the nation, the SA acts as the main facilitator of student activities on campus, as well as a major contributor to the services students use day in and day out.
