"Recently Elected VPMA Resigns, SA Stays Focused"
Binghamton, NY, 8/22/07 – On Tuesday, June 5th, 2007, the recently
elected Student Association Vice President for Multicultural Affairs,
Rabeel Patoli resigned from office, effective immediately. Citing his
reasons as personal, the Student Association can do no more than wish
Patoli the best of luck in his future endeavors, and thanks him on
behalf of the students of Binghamton University for the services he
provided them throughout his short tenure.
In compliance with Student Association procedure on this matter, the
Executive Board has appointed Carla Gunther to serve as Vice President
for Multicultural Affairs pro-tempore until a new Vice President can
be elected by the student body. Details of when these elections will
be held and how they will be carried out will be announced as soon as
they are available.
Gunther served as Chief of Staff to former VPMA and current SA
President David Bass. She brings with her established relationships
with cultural organizations, as well as an understanding of the inner
workings of the VPMA office. Gunther is expected to administer the
duties of the VPMA office without noticeable interruption.
