Hey welding classmates and interested others.

I'm going to mod my Harbor Freight "Dual MIG 171" welder (discontinued P/N
93793) per the HOWTO for the similar HF 151 MIG. The changes include a
better cooling fan, adding a mongo capacitor to smooth the DC coming out of
the rectifier, bleed resistor to prevent wire feed motor run on, and a
separate rectifier & cap for the wire feed motor to restore it to normal
wire feed speed (the big cap part of the mod speeds wire feed way up).

The how-to is found here for anyone interested.

Now for the scrounging bit - Anyone have a large (8-10-12") 220 volt AC
muffin fan laying around to donate to the project? Also commonly found in
the top of 19" equipment racks, you may have one and not even know it. If
you do, and want to contribute , please let me know. One's for sale good too
if your price is reasonable.

Thanks,
Grimey
