Membership Agreement and Billing

I'm pleased to announce some changes around the way we're processing payments for and tracking membership at the Space. If anyone has questions about the following bullet points, please reach out to me via Slack or email. I'm always available to answer questions. If you can't get in touch with me, other board members may be able to answer your questions. And now, the announcements!

For our accounting needs we have moved to Quickbooks Online which enables the automation of billing and receipts.


  • Starting this month members will receive monthly emails before the beginning of the month requesting payment of your membership fees. The email will have a link enabling you to pay using Credit Card, PayPal, or EFT (electronic funds transfer). If there is a problem with this or some hesitation about the change, you can continue paying your membership the way you have been.

  • Payments will be credited towards your membership as soon as possible. Once payment has been made or recorded, then you will receive a confirmation (second) email from Quickbooks.

  • Anyone who wants to arrange automatic payments (instead of clicking through the link every month) with a credit card directly with 10BitWorks may do so by contacting me. It will require a credit card and a signed release allowing your card to be charged on a recurring (monthly) basis.

  • Membership fees are be due by the 5th day of the month. Current members with payments scheduled after the 5th will be credited to the next months bill. No action is required by any of the current members.

  • There is a new Membership Agreement that will need to be completed by all members, both new and current. This is a general release form which is needed for our insurance. We will post a link for you to fill it out or you can request one to fill out at the Space.

Again, if anyone has questions they can reach out to me. The Board believe this system will make our bookkeeping easier and allow us to continue to devote attention to making the space great while we're increasing membership.

Mike, I didn't see mention of Dwolla, did I miss it? Only using it cause it was mandatory(?) the last time we tried to standardize payment systems......

Please let us Dwolla-ers know ASAP, as the November automatic transfers will happen soon.

You can continue paying the way you have been, thru Dwolla or PayPal with no problem. I will credit you when I see the payment come through the existing methods. This is mainly an effort to provide a consistent payment method and an easier way for us to track membership payments.
