Hi everybody
As promised I have collated some statistics on the most successful Cache hides by cache owner.
To qualify each cacher listed has more than 5 hides. I have excluded power trial hides as we are judging quality (as well as quantity).
In my opinion there are 6 metrics that determine a good cache hider:
· Number of caches hidden in a year
· Number of favourite points accumulated
· Number of finds of each cache
· Percentage of favourite points
· Number of hides that can be considered a ‘top’ cache. I chose 30% as the qualification mark. In other words at least every 3 in 10 finders marked the cache as a favourite
· Success rate. What percentage of hides turns out to be a top cache
If we are going to put up nominations for the ‘best geocache hider of 2012’ I believe we need to use these metrics. For ease of perusal I have marked the top three in each category in yellow. My questions to you guys are:
Should we go down the path of ‘crowning’ an individual as winner?
How many people are we going to include on the voting slip?
Which cachers do you think should be nominated?
