Newbie here! :-)

Thank you for this list and, especially for S4A!

Can I humbly ask how S4A compares to the other comparable(?) software for Arduino? What are the advantages and disadvantages?

Thank you!

<:-)

Hi, I am not the best person to try an answer but...

Can I humbly ask how S4A compares to the other comparable(?) software for Arduino? What are the advantages and disadvantages?

Thank you!

Since about 2 years ago I did very basic stuff using Minibloq and also Ardublock... not sure about the current state...
My understanding is that S4A, Snap!4A, in its current state of development are different in SCOPE in relation to Minibloq and ArduBlock...
Snnn4A(s) are ways to interact with Arduino from a Scratch-Like programming environment, the others are ways to create programs that runs on Arduino... in common, all uses the "visual block programming" to interact with the physical world...

I think it is fair to see Snnn4A(s) and the others as complementary tools that uses the same "visual block programming" stuff...

Minibloq uses its own "visual signs", a little bit different from the "block programming signs" common to Snnn4A(s) and ArduBlock...

My knowledge don't allows me to say much more than this... hope it help...

Another unique feature is that they are real-time environments. So, what you do in your screen has a direct, immediate impact on the board.

Hi, sorry by bad English. It´s rusty.
I think that one of the greatest advantage of S4A is the real time.
Working with industrial automation from early 80´s, I realy miss the "led´s" feedback, from industrial logic progrmable controlers, in debbuging software and hardware, at runup.
That´s a high point on S4A, the input´s signal panel on it.

I´m starting on S4A, and Arduino. I realy do not like ( and do not remember) C.
And I´m working on S4A with LEGO structural parts, for research on my education´s master degree .
THis month, I had a problem building the LEGO´s "spike" software. It did not worked well. I discovered that the sound sensor was picking the motor noise. But it was a cut and try debug.

I did not worked on Ardublock, but did with minibloq. It realy depends on what do you want to do.
As S4A must be conected to computer, motorized cars (that are apealing to childs) are hard to build, with out a wireless transmitter.

Hope it help in some way.

Regards.
