Dear all,
I am pleased to announce a new release of S3QL, version 6.1.0.
From the changelog:
* Mounting and unmounting filesystems with many metadata blocks is now
significantly faster: per-block metadata uploads and downloads run in
parallel across the backend connection pool, instead of serialising on
a single connection.
* `mkfs.s3ql`, `fsck.s3ql`, `s3qladm` and `s3ql_verify` now accept
`--max-connections` and `--max-threads`, matching the options that
`mount.s3ql` already exposed. `s3ql_verify`'s old `--parallel` option
has been removed in favour of the new flags.
* `s3qladm upgrade` no longer crashes with a `NoSuchObject` error when
run against a filesystem that is already at the current revision.
* `umount.s3ql` now falls back to `fusermount3` if `fusermount` is not
installed. This makes umount work on distributions that ship libfuse 3
only (e.g. recent Debian/Ubuntu).
* Fixed two issues in the Backblaze B2 backend: the async `close()`
function now works correctly, and the upload connection is properly
disconnected after a transient error instead of leaking the underlying
TLS socket.
