Job Responsibilities:
• Independently collect, analyze and document user requirements for BI projects
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications that will be used to implement the required reports and dashboards.
• Assist in the creation of a framework for how data, reports and dashboards are managed and delivered
• Ensure BI users have relevant access to BI tools/environments and understand how to use them
• Responsible for building, implementing and supporting Microsoft Power BI solutions
• Analyze and incorporate existing reports into the data warehouse
• Convert existing manual Excel/Access/Power BI datasets/reports into SQL Server/SSAS/Power BI Solutions
• Assist end users in creation of data visualizations, dashboards and reports to present data using Power Query and SSAS
• Perform ad hoc analysis, insight generation and data migrations.
• Utilize skills in data warehousing, business intelligence and SQL Server Tools (SSMS, T-SQL, Oracle SQL Server, SSIS) to develop solutions.
• Use ETL tools to transform data for practical implementation into BI solutions
• Assist with the development of ad hoc queries and analyses
• Create and maintain documentation on BI applications and source extraction applications
• Deliver training to end users centered around how to access, consume and utilize BI reporting
Requirements
• College degree, preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems
• Possess strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) language expressions nice to have
• Skill in using SQL for data retrieval and analysis
• Exposure to schema designs (relationships, discovery, and normalization), query optimization, T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers and indexing
• Knowledge of BI Best Practices/Methodologies, relational structures, dimensional data modeling, structured query language (SQL) skills, data warehouse and reporting techniques
• Familiarity with Power Query
• Familiarity with Visual Studio SSDT
• Knowledge of networks and servers
PREFERRED
• Knowledge of SQL programming using Microsoft SQL-Server T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS Tabular in the 2016 environment
• Tableau or some other BI tool
• 1-3 years of practical experience with Microsoft SQL Server
