The S2PLOT development team is very pleased to announce the release of
S2PLOT version 2.00, which is now available for download from
http://astronomy.swin.edu.au/s2plot.

Version 2.00 comes with a range of new features including:
- New dynamic callbacks to enable mapping of any key on the keyboard
to a function or command of your choice, and for capturing text typed
at an on-screen prompt
- Dragging of onscreen handles, providing greater capabilities for
quantitative visualisation
- Multiple panels, including the capability to link cameras between
panels - great for comparative visualisation
- Additional display attributes to help you make the screen look
exactly the way you want
- Additional texture map support, including creating textures from
freetype fonts
- Capability for drawing in screen-coordinates, ideal for annotating
images
- Support for 3D-PDF through conversion of S2PLOT geometry to VRML
- Support for new advanced display types
- General coding fixes and improvements

We hope that you will find plenty of new functions in S2PLOT version
2.00 that enhance your ability to visualise your data.

In response to user requests, we are moving towards making the S2PLOT
source code available during 2008. Stay tuned to this Google Group
for updates.

Dear S2PLOTters,

I need some help with getting started with S2PLOT from FORTRAN.

I've downloaded and installed the latest release of S2PLOT on my computer
(darwin-gnu-i386 architecture). The tests 5A and 5B described in INSTALL.TXT
work fine. Unfortunately, the How To only covers C, so I'm kind of stuck
(no previous PGPLOT experience). The features I'm most interested in are
drawing points and embedding this 3-d plot in a pdf files. Thanks a lot in
advance!!

Cheers,
Jens
