Fwd: Citing resources in academic papers

Hi,

I used the S2geometry lib in my research and would like to include this figure in an academic paper that I'm writing. I think that it is a fantastic resource to briefly explain how space-filling curves can be used for geospatial indexing.

Am I allowed to include such an image in this paper given the proper citation? What would be the preferred way of doing this?
