Spam on the Fleet 9 Google Group

Hi all-

I forget who manages the Fleet 9 Google Group (Tom?). At any rate, just a heads up that we just had the same spam about duct cleaning on the District 24 ILCA (Laser) Google Group. In the past month, the ILCA group has gotten some fairly convincing AI-generated requests to join the group, but now that we realize they are AI requests they are pretty easy to spot. I'm sure "Kenneth Forehand" submitted an AI request--just a word of warning to whoever manages this Google Group.

Yep, had me fooled.  Kenneth is now banned.  If anyone wants to join now I suggest that they have a S22 referral.

Hi Laird - The s22 google group owners are Fred, Chris, and me.   And actually Ross is also still listed as an owner.  I wonder is we should add you and Charlie as owners.  

Thanks for the heads up.  I’ve ignored a couple of requests to join because I couldn’t see any connection to sailing.  

FYI, right now the group and all our conversations are visible to anyone on the web. Should we limit it to group members??
