It was another great team race day on the water.   Thanks to Peter Putt, Chris Sandoval, and Christina Shaw for spectacular RC work including attached results and some great pics of the action including that 3 boat finish with bows within inches.

Oops! Forgot to recap the results.

Team Mellow Yellow took the first two races, then after the reshuffle it was tied 2-2.   Race 3 tied with 18 points each but according to Racing Rules of Sailing Team Racing Appendix D 3.4 that race is awarded to the team that does not finish first.

Other good rules from the Appendix and the general RRS were also discussed at the debrief again.

It it was a great BBQ for those that were able to stay for Charlie's 59th (and counting every one!) birthday party :-)

Chris — Race 3 went to the team that did not finish first.  Which team was that??

Hi, my name is Hank Lindemann and had a lot of fun during your nationals last year.

Looks like your team racing was a big hit! I saw some pictures of the last one and it just looked fantastic.

Hope you can all make it up to play in participate in the nationals in Richmond, which will be in September. It’s later than it normally is we usually do them in July but Richmind Had capacity to pull it in to a window design series already on the books and it just made more sense for them. Hopefully nobody’s put out by that and would attend either way.

Anyway, I’d like to share that we have 10 Santana‘s now regularly sailing in the estuary on our Friday night Races and Island Yacht Club and some others at Oakland yacht club and Encinal Yacht Club. We are also doing a Tuna Tuesday casual sail after work.

EYC will soon have a “foundation boat” that may be much like your Tara. Also trying to find another Tuna to fix up that other Santanas owners can sail up her … sort of a bring your own sails thing.

If any of you happen to be around on a Tuesday sailing, Friday beer can, Wednesday beer can in Richmond, we could use some. Mentoring for some our new Tuna owners (3 ladies) just purchased 3 capable boats.

A belated thanks for sharing Tara last year. What a blast to sail another Tuna in your waters!!
