Hi everyone,
Welcome to the last week of pledge, and congratulations for making it this far. The progress you have made, both individually and as a pledge class, is tangible to me and the entire brotherhood, and you should all be proud of yourselves. However, given that there are still certain requirements that must be met before you may be initiated as a full brother of Scale and Coin, I advise you not to become complacent. Like we said at Midcourt, you should be constantly striving to improve your performance and realize your full potential.
See below for instructions regarding this week's presentation and upcoming events.
1. Marketing pitch. This week, your group will prepare a 7 minute presentation on your marketing strategy for how to sell ice to an Eskimo. And by "Eskimo" I mean not literally an indigenous person of Inuit descent, but rather someone who has no intrinsic need or reason to pay for ice. When preparing your presentation, please focus on the following: market research strategies, analysis of the marketing environment, target demographics, promotional strategy, and sample advertisements. I highly encourage you to be as specific as possible as you develop your marketing campaign. I understand if this prompt may seem rather vague to you, so please let me know if you have any questions.
2. Office hours. Available upon request at 6pm this Thursday, 2/28 in the Soc Sci lobby.
3. Rankings. Attached.
4. Signatures. It came to my attention at Midcourt that many of you are lacking signatures from members of the exec board. Keep in mind that you must have 20 signatures, including signatures from all members of the exec board, in order to be intiated. Please make an effort to reach out to people and start acquiring those signatures - I strongly advise you not to leave it to the last minute.
5. Final group challenge. This Saturday, March 2. Details to be released soon. Attendance is mandatory, so let me know as soon as possible if you have an unavoidable conflict.
Good luck with everything this week.
Best,
Rebecca
