Help us bridge the gap between child welfare and the community! Find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/Spokane.PAN.

SPAN seeks to provide hope to other parents who currently struggle with CPS issues, and change the child welfare culture from fear and isolation, to connections and trust. We need your help within our local communities to be a peer to parents and demonstrate “People Change ~ Families Reunite.”

By joining us, you can learn to: be a peer and help other parents engage with their children and services; be an advocate by sharing your story in confident, constructive ways; and be involved with improving child welfare policies, practices, and programs.

Founded in 2009, SPAN is a unique and dynamic volunteer group, consisting of a majority of “veteran” parent advocates with previous CPS involvement, along with advisors from Spokane County Juvenile Court, the Department of Children & Family Services, other agencies, and local social service providers. We are also connected with Catalyst for Kids in Seattle, the Washington State Office of Public Defense Parent Representation Program in Olympia, and the American Bar Association’s Center of Children and the Law in Washington, DC.
