Or

2.       “As a Republican, I believe in freedom, and that includes the freedom to marry the person you love.” -Cheryl Pflug

Dear Laurie,

We did it! Pride Foundation is getting ready to run our very first TV ad about why marriage  matters in Washington State during tonight’s Olympic Games Opening Ceremonies! The ad is part of Pride Foundation’s ongoing public education effort to make the case for marriage for same-sex couples across Washington.

The ad will premiere this evening—but I wanted you to be the one of the first to watch it now.

Pride Foundation is so proud of former Washington State Republican Senator Cheryl Pflug for her willingness to share her personal story of becoming an advocate for the freedom to marry for same-sex couples. Earlier this week, when asked about the ad she said, “It isn't about me. It's just the voice of an older woman who has lived long enough to know that love is precious, and that the freedom to be a family is worth standing up for.”

It is allies like Senator Pflug, who enthusiastically and publicly stand with us side-by-side, who will help us reach full equality by inspiring their peers. She is a perfect example of the growing number of Washingtonians and Americans who support marriage for same-sex couples.

And here is where you come in: we need your help to keep the ad on the air. Once you’ve viewed the ad, please make a gift to help us re-broadcast the ad as many times as possible to the unique and large audience drawn in by the Olympics.

Gifts are tax-deductible and your support shows that—like Senator Pflug—you too believe that every family is worth standing up for and that freedom is an essential value.

We are in an era of game-changing moments for LGBTQ equality. Now is the time to make history, together: Watch the ad. Share it with people you know. Start a conversation. Be an inspiration.

Thank you.

With pride,
Kris Hermanns
Executive Director
Pride Foundation

P.S.— Love is indeed precious. Help bring our message of fairness and freedom to everyone watching the Olympics! Make your tax-deductible gift to Pride Foundation’s Washington Marriage for All Education Fund today.
