The series follows John Nolan, a 45-year-old newly divorced man from Pennsylvania, who, nine months after helping police officers during a bank robbery in his hometown of Foxburg, moves to Los Angeles to pursue a new career as a police officer in the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). After graduating from the Police Academy as the oldest rookie on the force, Nolan must navigate the dangerous, unpredictable nature of his job and is determined to make it in his new career despite the challenges.[1]

Currently starring as John Nolan in ABC's \"The Rookie,\" Fillion leads the cast into its fifth season of this police procedural drama about a man in his forties who becomes the oldest rookie at the Los Angeles Police Department. \"The Rookie\" premiered in 2018 and airs in over 170 countries worldwide.

"Old Timers" should also take note of this event. Consider opening your station up to a rookie (or two) and become an elmer. Remember, the more operators are on the air, the more fun the 'Roundup will be for everyone.

Electronic certificates will be emailed to the top five scoring Rookies in each US call area, Canadian province, Mexican call area and DX. No national winners will be recognized. A commemorative participation certificate will be available for download to every Rookie operator submitting a score. Non-rookies submitting a check log will be recognized by call in the final results.

3.3.2. Team entries must be registered with the ARRL Contest Branch prior to the contest using the on-line form on the Rookie Roundup web page (www.arrl.org/rookie-roundup). See the Rookie Roundup web page for registration deadlines.

6.6. Non-rookie operators are encouraged to assist Rookie operators in person with
operating technique and instruction, including acting as the control operator to allow Technician class licensees to transmit with General or Extra class privileges. Non-rookie operators may not, however, make any transmissions from the station or log any contacts.

Up to Five Single-Operator Rookie entrants may submit their scores as a Team. Teams must be registered in advance. Multioperator entrants are not allowed to participate as a member of a Team. Non-rookies are not permitted to be on a team.

Henderson ended up leading the team in Wins Above Replacement per Baseball-Reference (6.2) and being named Most Valuable Oriole by the local media. He ranked first among AL rookies in bWAR, fWAR (4.6), home runs (28), triples (nine), RBIs (82) and runs scored (100), while batting .255 with an .814 OPS in 150 games and winning a Silver Slugger Award in the AL utility category.

"He's that guy," safety Jamal Adams said. "I've been excited since he came here. One of the smartest rookies I've ever been around. Just a complete baller, game-changer, can do it all. That's my guy."

"I feel like he has been doing a great job in learning and just the process of being a rookie and carrying that role," Jefferson said. "It's definitely been a tough year just battling with the injuries. ... I feel like Jaren is definitely a great quarterback. He has definitely some potential to spark this offense up if we put him out there to play, but we'll have confidence in whoever."

In three games during September, Stroud completed 78-of-121 pass attempts (64.5 percent) for 906 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions for a passer rating of 98.0. He ranks first in all major passing categories among rookies across the league including completions, yards, passer rating, touchdown passes, touchdown-interception ratio, yards per attempt and more.

Stroud's impressive numbers have placed him atop the club's history in numerous categories, as his 64.5 completion percentage, 78 completions, 906 passing yards, 98.0 passer rating and four touchdown passes all rank first by a Texans rookie through the first three weeks of any season. His passer rating through the first three games stands as the third-highest in NFL history by a rookie during that span.

In Week 2 against the Colts, he completed 30-of-47 passes for 384 passing yards, two touchdowns and a 103.5 passer rating, marking the second-most passing yards by a Texans rookie signal caller and second-most by a player 21-years-old or younger since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger, trailing only Matthew Stafford (422). Additionally, his 906 passing yards overall rank third in NFL annals for most passing yards by a rookie through Week 3, trailing only Cam Newton (1,012) and Justin Herbert (931).

An established veteran running back or an untested rookie? It sounds like an easy choice, but come playoff time, that rookie could be destroying your team in the fantasy football Super Bowl. Rookies are more unpredictable than veterans because it is impossible to tell how players will adjust to the bigger and faster pro level. Some players adapt immediately, like Saquon Barkley in 2018 when he finished as the overall RB1 in his rookie year, but is it worth the inherent risk of drafting a player that has not even taken a professional snap?

On average, the typical running back will have an EOSR that is better than his ADP 40.7% of the time. Rookies, on the other hand, finish better than their ADP 52.4% of the time. That is the best of any year. To ensure that rookies with a low ADP were not skewing the data, I looked at the same statistics but only included players who had an ADP of 36 or higher among running backs, meaning they would start on the average fantasy team. When projected starters are the only ones included, rookies taken in the top 36 running backs finish better than their ADP by an even more drastic 58.8% compared to the average of 41.1%. It should go without saying that rookies were also the best among all running backs in that category.

It is worth noting that rookie running backs miss one less game due to injury on average than veteran backs (1.56 games per season compared to 2.61 as the veteran average), so their EOSR benefits from that.

To take away this possible reason for rookie success, I analyzed the rankings on a per-game basis. The points-per-game EOSRs do not take games missed into account, and once again, rookie running backs lead that category by finishing with a points-per-game ranking better than their ADP 50% of the time compared to the average of 38.5%. When looking at just starters, rookies also lead that category with 58.8% compared to the mean of 41.7%.

When looking at the data for all non-rookie, RB1-drafted players, players in years four and six have the best numbers. They both have below-average bust percentages, making them safe options for top-tier draft picks, and they also finish better or at the same ADP an above-average percentage of the time.

Running backs are unique in that they seem to adjust faster than other positions in the NFL, but their careers are typically shorter, as evidenced by the downward trend in data and the shrinking sample size as the years increased. To use this data in your fantasy draft, I strongly recommend targeting rookies as low-risk options with favorable upside. When drafted at or after their ADP, rookies have shown remarkable consistency without sacrificing their potential to exceed expectations. In general, the data in the boom/bust section does not show good enough results to recommend drafting rookies before their ADP or reaching for them, but the data at ADP is strong enough to merit picking a rookie over a veteran based on ADP value.

The meniscus injury he suffered at TCU hadn't sufficiently healed to where the Saints felt the third-round pick (No. 71 overall) would benefit most from being involved in workouts May 12-14 with the other draft picks, undrafted rookies and tryout players. So he was on the sideline with a member of the training staff, working on conditioning drills while his classmates absorbed as much of the playbook as possible on the field.
