I am a first time user and I think this is a marvelous and fun
software. How do I match colours if I don't use DMC colour chart.
There are no code numbers on the other choices and it will be
important as it is my Great Niece's face I will be cross-stitching so
blending is important.

Thanks

Hi Johan!

Great to hear your feedback!

There are few options you can use to extend to other color brands.

1. If you can find color chart with RGB color information from
somewhere, it can be imported to the program as custom color chart.
The wiki page has onformation how to correctly format the file. I'll
gladly help with conversion.

2. Program has tool to create custom color chart from image. It's
propably a bit laboursome for cross stitch colors, but if you just
need a handful of colours, it should do the trick.

3. There exists color tables that can be used to convert other branded
colors to/from DMC chart in the net. Which color brand do you need? I
can use the table to generate a custom color file for you.

Cheers,
Jari

Hi Jari,

Thank you for replying.  I have a nice winter project of my great niece (and more later of my dog) at her Christening (beautiful little girl) which I am still fine tuning the colours. I am using Paint which does have RGB so I will check out what you have said for importing.  One of the best features of this program is the print choices. No more squinting of eyes. I can just zoom to whatever level I want and so many options - brilliant. All I have to do is read it right off my monitor.
I will be in touch if I need more help when I buy the threads and will look at these options below.

Thanks so much, I think I will have fun with this. Fits all my needs.

Regards,
Johan
