The Netflix top 10 chart can be a great tool to help you keep on top of the streamer's biggest shows. As one of the biggest names in the streaming game, Netflix boasts an impressive, always-changing library of shows (it's the big reason we still rank it as one of the best streaming services).
Here, we've broken down the three best titles currently on the most-watched list as of 12 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 27. Currently, that includes the streamer's flagship period drama (with a 2023 spinoff also climbing the ranks!), along with a 2000s crime drama and a limited Netflix Original series starring Benedict Cumberbatch.
If those don't sound like they'll suit you, and you need more streaming recommendations, check out our guide on the best new movies that just landed on streaming and everything new to Netflix this month. Otherwise, here are those top three must-watch shows.
Chances are, you've already heard of "Bridgerton", but since the second half of "Bridgerton" season 3 premiered in mid-June, the show's been a mainstay in the Netflix Top 10, though it's finally been dethroned from the top spot.
In the show's third outing, Penelope Featherington's the talk of the town. As a new dating season dawns, Bridgerton matriarch Violet is helping Francesca make her debut. Having been left heartbroken at the Featherington ball after she overheard her crush, Colin Bridgerton, say he would never pursue her, she enters the new season determined to move on and find a match.
Now that he's back from his travels, Colin has a new lease on life, but notes that Penelope's giving him the cold shoulder. He offers to help tutor her in the ways of the marriage market... and in doing so, starts to grapple with whether they should be more than friends after all.
"Dexter" has landed on Netflix, and has quickly claimed a spot in the Netflix Top 10. This thrilling crime drama originally ran for eight seasons on Showtime from 2006 to 2013 and follows Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), a Miami-based blood splatter expert who cracks cases with the Miami Metro Police Department.
The twist? His gig is a cover for the crimes he commits, as Morgan leads a secret double life as a vigilante serial killer. Guided by his 'dark passenger', Dexter (mostly) goes after worthwhile victims: criminals who have slipped through the justice system one way or another, using his forensic skills to execute them precisely and dumping them to avoid his secrets coming to light.
Vincent (Benedict Cumberbatch) is one of New York City's best-known puppeteers and is responsible for the hugely popular children's series, "Good Day Sunshine". Edgar vanished en route to school one day, and as Vincent struggles to deal with the loss, he turns to ERIC, the blue monster that Edgar used to draw. Vincent grows convinced that he needs to get the puppet on TV, and that doing so will bring his son home... but his newfound obsession and destructive behavior starts to push people away, leaving ERIC as his only ally in the search.
Two things the original Saved by the Bell cast has received that their spinoffs haven't are specials and TV movies to expand their story. It's something star Dexter Darden is optimistic for the Tracey Wigfield legacy sequel based on the Sam Bobrick popular NBC Saturday morning series since its cancellation on Peacock after two seasons. While promoting his latest film, Half Baked: Totally High, the actor spoke to Bleeding Cool about the future of his character, Devante Young, what he discussed with Wigfield and the series' legacy.
"Tracey and I, when we got canceled, it was more the idea of there being a season three eventually, right?" Darden explained. "Things were happening with streaming, a strike looming, and a lot was going on that Peacock as a network maybe decided it wasn't the best way to go. I still think there is hope for a season three somewhere down the line, and maybe we can come back for a graduation movie or something."
On a possible season three, Darden remained optimistic that the series would do so in some form. "Given all the success that we've started to have as a cast individually outside of the show, shout out to Alycia Pascual-Pea, who is on 'Bel-Aire' now, and Josie Totah, who's doing everything producing. She was also a producer on 'Saved By the Bell.' We have our cast growing in the cult fandom so far. It's still good, and it's not just old 'Saved By the Bell' fans, but new ones due to the show that we have on Peacock. So it's nice and I'm hoping that we might be able to see this final arc on screen, and I don't spoil it for you as much as I would like to."
In two seasons, Devante was like many of his peers as a student trying to fit in and buck against stereotypes as a transfer student from the same school as friends Daisy and Aisha to his new home at Bayside, building relationships with Mac, Lexi, and Jamie. While Slater hoped Devante would have aspirations for sports, he found his voice in the arts and theatre with the help of Lexi.
Half Baked: Totally High, which also stars Ramona Young, Moses Storm, Harland Williams, David Koechner, Frankie Muniz, Rachel True, and Ash Santos, is available on streaming and digital. Saved by the Bell is available to stream on Peacock.
Among the other new arrivals this week, we suspect that The Decameron could be a breakout series for Netflix as well. This black comedy takes place in the Dark Ages, but it has a very modern spin and Drunk History fans should be right at home with this one. These are just two of the best shows on Netflix right now, and you can find all of our other picks below.
Vikings: Valhalla has a lot of ground to cover in its third and final season. Seven years after the events of season 2, Leif Eriksson (Sam Corlett), Freyds Eirksdttir (Frida Gustavsson), and Harald Sigurdsson (Leo Suter) each have new challenges to face. For Freyds, her life is largely about keeping her tribe alive and determining if they need to find a new home. Her brother, Leif, is given over to wanderlust as he contemplates what may be his last journey.
Elsewhere, an ideological battle is taking place between King Canute the Great (Bradley Freegard) and the Christians whose influence has spread far and wide. By the end of the season, the world of the Vikings is a very different place than when Valhalla began. And not everyone is going to get the ending they want.
The summer of 2023 was the summer of Suits on Netflix. But the streamer only had the first eight seasons of Suits, which were largely about attorney Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), and his associate lawyer, Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams). Mike never actually went to law school or passed the bar, but his legal knowledge was so impressive that Harvey hired him and agreed to keep it a secret.
By the time season 9 of Suits arrived, Mike had already been written out the show along with his on-screen lover, Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle). That left Harvey, Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman), and others to contend with Faye Richardson (Denise Crosby), a named partner in their firm whom they desperately want to force out. Mike does show up a few times in the ninth season, leading to one last team-up with Harvey. But not before they go head-to-head in court.
Patrick Melrose is a British miniseries that was originally shown domestically on Showtime in 2018. Benedict Cumberbatch plays the title character, while Sebastian Maltz plays a younger Patrick in flashbacks. The story takes place over multiple decades as Patrick attempts to emotionally deal with the abuse he received from his father, David (Hugo Weaving), and the neglect he got from his mother, Eleanor (Jennifer Jason Leigh).
All of Us Strangers star Andrew Scott takes over the role of Tom Ripley from Damon, and he proves to be just as underhanded on the show as he was in the movie. In 1960, Ripley is hired by the wealthy father of Dickie Greenleaf (Johnny Flynn) to convince his playboy son to come home after an extended period abroad. But after meeting Dickie and his girlfriend, Marge Sherwood (Dakota Fanning), Ripley becomes enamored with their lifestyle and with Dickie himself. And Ripley will do just about anything to make sure that their good fortune becomes his.
The Viking Age has begun again, now that Vikings has returned to Netflix. The wildly popular historical drama was a big hit for History, as it chronicled the story of a Viking legend, Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel), and his heirs during the 8th and 9th centuries.
This season, Assane is desperate to reunite with Claire and Raoul. Before he can do that, he will have to deal with a new enemy who is directly targeting his family. And this time, the gentleman thief may be out of options.
As with the previous seasons, series creator Charlie Brooker has attracted a lot of big-name performers to share the small screen in his stories. And each episode of Black Mirror is a mind-bending experience.
At stake is the right to send their students to the Sekai Taikai, the world championships of karate. However, their old rival, John Kreese (Martin Kove), has turned up like a bad penny to revive the Cobra Kai brand yet again.
Realizing that the fate of the country may be at stake, Peter will stop at nothing to unravel the conspiracy and unmask the mole. He also has an unlikely ally in Rose Larkin (Buchanan), a young CEO who has already been marked for death by their mutual enemies.
