Where did my family_html pages go?

Have been AWOL most of the year, partly due to illness but mainly because all my computers went down (power and monitor issues) and had serious issues getting back online.  But finally am able to do some genealogy again.

I had fortunately set up a backup site back in 2018, but have a bunch of pages from freepages.rootsweb.com/-thecohens/family/ (unable type a tilde right now, sub that for the hyphen) that I cannot find a way to get to online.  My other primary directory is there (genealogy), but not the family one that has dozens of pages. 

And yes there is/was an index.html.  Some pages are abrahams.html and jacobs.html.  But there are dozens more.

Does anybody reading this have pages in their family_html directory that are still reachable online?  Is it just me?  Any suggestions?

Copy and Paste the following to access your pages:-

https://freepages.rootsweb.com/~thecohens/genealogy/

Hope that helps. I think you will be able to navigate your way around the site.

Just remember; all access to the pages has been stopped. You can download any page you need, but remember to remove any of the Ancestry added scripts etc. from the mark-up.

Hi Barry,

I am not sure you got my question.  When I click on "Our Families", for example, I get an Error 403 page.  Can you actually see that page, the Our Families page? 

And in the text there are hot links to, for example, the Abrahams, Blumstein and Cohen pages.  Clicking on any links to pages in the "family" directory gives 403 Error sayng "this page isn't available to you!

Thanks.  I wonder if the permissions on those pages got messed up when I added messages to all of them about the read-only deal.  If other sites family_html pages are there, permissions might be the problem.

I have backups but since it will be a long time before I can change the references, I would rather use the freepages ones at rootsweb for now.

I will try to see if I can come up with pages I may not have edited to see if that sheds some light on this.

I'm not sure what is happening, but the genealogy/computer directories seem accessible, whereas others are not.

My email access is tricky right now, typing very difficult, but think it may be a permissions issue.  Lots to say in replies to you both, will take time to get it typed up.  There are limited pages from family directory - the ones I did not edit, that are reachable.  Want to get the urls typed up to send within a day or two.
