Hello,

I am attempting to populate a map on an ios app with current disasters like the one on the ReliefWeb website (http://reliefweb.int/disasters), and was wondering if there was someway I could download the marker icons used. I was able to find the "World: Humanitarian and Country Icons 2012" but was wondering if it would be possible to get access to the images that specifically have the markers with these icons inside.

Best,
Emanuel

Hi Emanuel,

Our disaster icons are available at https://github.com/reliefweb/reliefweb-disaster-icons. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask here.

Thanks,

Hi Shuichi,

Thank you for your help. I'm having issues figuring out how to use the files. I am unfamiliar with CSS files and am attempting to use these icons for an iOS app. The "how to use" instructions refer to adding a link to "the html head" but I am unsure of what this is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best,
Emanuel

CSS are Cascading Style Sheets - they are used to "style" websites. HTML head refers to the "head" part of a "website document". It seems like you are not familiar with web development. But you can't just include
it this in an iOS app. These icons aren't "pictures", but icon fonts. Take a look at the links in the readme under "Generating the fonts". You'll have to figure out how to use font icons in iOS apps, or how you can generate
bitmaps (or any form of raster graphic) from them. I'm on the other hand not familiar with iOS development, so I can't tell you if and how you can do that :)

Cheers,
Ben
