In February, we informed you about upcoming trader verification requirements for EU compliance.
Urgent action is now required - your Chrome Web Store trader account must complete verification to avoid suspension on February 3, 2025.
What You Need to Do Now:
- Sign in to your Developer Dashboard to start the mandatory verification process
- Complete all verification requirements to maintain your account status
- Submit documentation as soon as possible–verification times vary, and the verification process must be complete by February 3, 2025 to prevent account suspension
Required Verification Documents:
For Individual Accounts:
- Legal name
- Legal address
- Contact phone number
- A government issued ID
- A document showing your name and current address
For Organization Accounts:
- Organization name
- Legal address
- Contact phone number
- Proof of business registration or a D-U-N-S number (Important: obtaining a D-U-N-S number can take 30+ days)
Critical Timeline:
- Starting immediately: Complete the verification process in your Developer Dashboard
- February 3, 2025: Unverified trader accounts and their published items will be suspended
Note: Your verified phone number, physical address, contact email, and DUNS number (if applicable) will be displayed on your listings in the Chrome Web Store and will be visible to users.
