GALICE RESORT IN JOSEPHINE COUNTY BURNS TO THE GROUND

WILDLAND FIRE HAS RESULTED

Getting the very sad news that the Galice Resort has burned to the ground. As if that was not bad enough, the fire has spread to adjacent wildlands. ODF has a full attack going in the area with air support including helicopters. They were also inquiring about status of air tankers for retardant drops. Closest available air tankers are in Redmond. They could also use Cal Fire air tankers based in Redding. Air tankers have not been requested at last report. 

The Merlin Galice Road is closed as they deal with the wildfire situation.
