Dear students,

A pre-workshop presentation has been arranged for fourth semester students on 17-03-2016 at 2:00PM in Mechanical seminar hall. This workshop includes the CFD analysis of aircraft wing and flow analysis of internal combustion engine. This is a vibrant field of study and very few people have expertise in these areas so, this is an opportunity for you people to get aware of the demanding field of design analysis and make your career in the same field.
Workshop on
Industry-oriented Design Analysis

Highlights
1. Step-by-step guidance on the software.
2. Hands-on training using live models.
3. Workshop based Assessments.
4. Each trainee will receive a verifiable certificate,
5. The certificate will also be posted in our website which the trainees can refer in the Bio-data.

Duration: 2 days
Software: HYPERMESH or ANSYS
Eligibility: Pre-final & Final year - BE, ME - Mech, Auto, Aero & Industrial students.

Buckling Analysis

Inline image 1

Buckling characteristics of the connecting-rod of an automobile will be analysed. In this project, the trainees will learn to do the following:

·          Mesh-generation

·          FE model set-up and

·          Solver settings

·          Results processing

Modal Analysis

Inline image 3

In this project, the vibration behaviour of the wing of an aircraft will be simulated. The trainees will learn to do the following:

·          Meshing & analysis

·          Post processing

·          Mode identification

·          Study Mode-shape

Contact Analysis

Inline image 4

A non-linear contact analysis will be carried out to establish the structural behaviour of the bracket of an automobile chassis. In this project, the trainees will learn to do the following:

·          Identify contact regions

·          Perform non-linear analysis

·          Characterize the stress-field

Day 2:
CFD Workshop

Aerodynamic Analysis of Aircraft-wing

Inline image 5

Wing analysis is carried out to predict the drag and lift forces generated at different operating conditions. In this simulation, trainees will learn to do the following:

·          Turbulence model selection

·          Farfield Boundary condition setup

·          Solution steering setup

·          Post – Processing

Analysis of Internal-combustion engine
Inline image 6

In this analysis, principle internal combustion processes are simulated. The trainees will learn to do the following:

·          Creating CFD model

·          Dynamic Mesh setup

·          Plot temperature & pressure vs crank-angle

·          Results interpretation

Exhaust manifold Analysis

Inline image 7

Exhaust Manifold simulation is used to find the pressure and temperature variation within the system domain. In this simulation, trainees will learn to do the following:

·

Conjugate Heat Transfer setup

·

Turbulence model selection

·         Material selection

·         Post - Processing
