I took a stunning fall walk in Ashland and the bird highlight on Carter Lane by Valley View Nursery was a beautiful Ferruginous Hawk that flew right over my head and then landed quite a few telephone poles down on Staples Lane. I could still positively identify it through my binoculars but my phone wouldn't have been able to capture a photo at that distance. It was a raptor-filled afternoon.
