Lewis's Woodpeckers...

...can be seen at MP 10 on HWY 66. Didn't see as many as in previous years but still some handsome birds to behold.

This afternoon we saw 10-12 Lewis's Woodpeckers at Lower Table Rock along the Oak Savanna trail.   One of them was flying around and vocalizing while carrying what looked like the meat of an acorn in its bill.   Some Acorn Woodpeckers were flying around vocalizing too.    It made me wonder if someone's cache had been robbed....
