I just found a female LAGO in the field behind my house mixed in with a flock of about 100 other goldfinches. If anyone is interested in seeing it let me know. The flock of goldfinches has been around for maybe a week or so.

Hi Karl, I'd love to come see the LAGO if you think she's still around.

Hi Karl,
I had two Lawrence's Goldfinches in my yard (south of Jacksonville in mixed forest) yesterday.  Did not have my camera handy, but I made a positive ID on them.  So amazing to see!  I keep looking to see if they will come back, but did not see the pair today, just the usual crowd of Lesser Goldfinches.

That's a lot of LAGO for the year! I normally don't sort through goldfinch flocks looking for a LAGO but that has changed, especially since I intentionally went out looking for one in the flock on the day I found it, and there it was. Not easy to ID a juvenile/female LAGO and I actually made the ID from my photos (and Frank Lospalluto's nod of the head) not even realizing what it was for sure when I saw it. I only saw it the one time and a more knowledgeable birder said they move around a lot... one day with the flock and the next day who knows where. But, like you, I keep looking now.
