Celebrate a Good Neighbor in Rutledge

The Borough of Rutledge is delighted to celebrate people who have had a positive impact on our community. We also have special recognition such as The Outstanding Citizen Award (for a strong contribution), or The Hall of Honor Award (for sustained civic leadership). Good neighbors will be formally recognized at our annual July 4th Parade.

Please take a moment to remember and nominate a good neighbor at bit.ly/RutNeighbors .

Rutledge Girls Club

  • There is still time to sign up for the upcoming Spring softball season, all players ages 4 and up are welcome and the link to our registration can be found at www.rutledgewolfpack.org

  • The club has an opening for the Treasurer position, having a current player in the club is not required, and requires knowledge of basic accounting and payables principles.   Please reach out to us via our website or social media accounts to discuss in additional detail.

Sanitation Committee

  • Yard Waste: Just a reminder that Yard Waste collections were moved to the first Monday of the month until April when this will be revisited.

    • Those dates are 3/3 and 4/7, please mark your calendars.  (NOTE:  The Monday collection date was changed after the last newsletter was mailed, so please excuse any confusion caused by this switch in days.)

  • Trash: We would like to encourage residents who are filling more than their current toter, to consider purchasing an additional toter for only $75.  These toters list in the $125 and above range, so the purchase of a second trash toter for $75 is a steal, plus it is yours to keep.

    • The toters provided to all residents by the hauler allow their workers a safer option as the toters provided allow for automated pick up.  Less wear and tear on the workers, along with lower chance of injury.  Something to consider!

  • Bulk Items: Please be sure to  call ahead any bulk items for pick up so SEM can accordingly size the truck: Contact number for SEM is: 1-302-832-8000

  • Recycling: We are asking residents to break down their cardboard as much as possible and place it in their recycling toters as opposed to leaving cardboard on the curb.  Wet cardboard is problematic for the recycling center.  So, please make sure you can get all your recyclings in the orange toters and the lids can close.

  • The Traveling Glass Bin, which Rutledge had for one week in December of 2023, is now located at the Swarthmore Public Works yard. This glass is 100% recycled in Pennsylvania.  While it is a little further, please consider recycling your glass there!

Thank you,

Rutledge Communications
