Rutledge Youth: Apply for the Junior Council Person Program

The Borough of Rutledge is excited to announce our participation in the Pennsylvania Association of Boroughs' Junior Council Person Program. This program will offer high school aged students to get involved with our Borough, supporting initiatives on behalf of Borough Council. Eligible participants would have the opportunity to serve a two year term, running June 1 to May 31st of the second year. They must be a high school student for at least one full year of the term.

If you have a high schooler who might be interested, please contact rutledg...@gmail.com for an application. This will look great on a college resume!

Historical Committee:

  • Rutledge Antiques Roadshow: Do you have an artifact reflecting Rutledge’s history? We would love to have you enter it in our Rutledge Antiques Roadshow where items will be assessed by our local historians and may be put on display leading up to our Semiquincentennial celebration. Please email a photo and description of your submission by 6/17/26 to our coordinating Historical Committee member for this event: alan.mc...@temple.edu

  • Oral History Gathering: Do you have something to share about Rutledge? We’re listening! As part of the preservation process of our borough we would like to collect residents’ and neighbors’ stories of life in our borough. The recordings of this project will be archived and preserved…maybe even in a time capsule! Please submit requests for an interview here

  • Visit the Rutledge Archives: Newly released, the Rutledge Digital Archives are now live! You can visit our archives and be a Rutledge Citizen Historian. We continue to scan and upload documents, with more than 14,000 pages across over 800 accessioned items, we’re just getting started. We’re looking for archivists to help with our projects.

  • Join us: We meet to plan projects and events every 3rd Wednesday at 6:30pm in the Lower Borough Hall, come join us! All are welcome.

Parks and Recreations Committee

As the Triangle Park Master Plan continues to progress, residents are advised that the Shade Structure and Shed for the Gather Space are currently expected for delivery and construction in late April through late May. The Gather Space will be fenced off for the duration of the shade structure installation.

Starting in June, the Stormwater Management improvements to the softball field and intersection will also begin. As detailed in our newsletter, this includes installation of: new stormwater intake at the intersection of Rutledge Avenue and Waverly Terrace including a curb bump-out; underground piping beneath Triangle Park and Rutledge Ave; large gravel infiltration bed to improve water filtration and reduce surface runoff; and creation of a new access point to the park along Waverly Terrace.

We appreciate the community’s patience and continued support as we invest in these important environmental improvements for a cleaner and more resilient Borough.

Rutledge Volunteering Opportunities:
